19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been won on hardcourt

A comeback Medvedev claimed his first championship for 882 days with success over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament championship match.

The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a difficult period, managing just one match at the Grand Slams and experiencing a setback at the American major.

Medvedev's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serving in particular - resulted in him falling of the world's top 10 and ultimately parting ways with former trainer Gilles Cervara.

Now working with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently advanced in the last few weeks - culminating in a tightly fought competitive triumph over Frenchman Moutet.

This represents his initial trophy since the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hardcourt after March of 2023.

The win also signifies the Russian has won twenty-one championships at twenty-one various competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a tournament with my children at once, so to win a championship is particularly special," stated ranked player Medvedev.

"This victory is in tribute of my child my daughter, because the initial championship I won when my first daughter her name was born was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had been defeated in his past six title deciders, comprising in that event in the past months.

His counter-punching play style and regular emotional displays on the playing surface had led observers to question if his skill to compete at the elite level was over.

However the athlete has made changes in the last few weeks, striving to advance forward and play assertively, supported by an enhanced serving game.

Medvedev came back from a disadvantage in the first set against the challenging Frenchman, taking four of the concluding five exchanges to gain the advantage.

The competitors swapped breaks in the middle set before the challenger, attempting for his maiden ATP Tour victory, gained dominance to force a decider.

Moutet rescued four early-game chances in a close deciding set before the Russian won the break to fifteen to secure the win.

Appropriately, Medvedev secured the title with a point at the front of the court, with Moutet unable to handle a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
